Halloweens past

Thursday, July 19th, 2007

here are some not great pictures of 2 past halloween costumes, since i’ve got the crafty posting juice flowing. The silent film star was from this past year, not a great photo, but a fun costume. Princess Elizabeth- The Paper Bag Princess was from…i’m having trouble with this one…but i think it miiight have been 2003….yes, i’m pretty sure. that same year i also went as a mail order bride, and made a full bridal gown out of brown shipping paper. it was freakin’ awesome. You’d like to see it wouldn’t you? i know i would. unfortunetly, i don’t know where there are any photos of it :( alas.

Wings

Monday, July 16th, 2007

More craft! Here is my first pair of wings i made. (not that i’ve made more as of yet, but i might…) they really took quite a long time, but i’m happy with the way they turned out, whenever i open the closet where they reside, i still can’t believe that i made them! :) Jessi and i made our wings for the Fairy Festival in Glen Rock, PA…2 or 3 years ago…i can’t remember!

Falafel, Tigger and Pikachu!

here we are just hanging out with some mates! Origins is pretty cool, and so is Columbus as it turns out! Well, at least the little part i was walking around in today. We wandered into the North Market which is an awesome, well, Market! I had pizza, jones soda, and ice cream! Home made ice cream- Strawberry and buttermilk, Caramel sea salt (surprisingly good!) and Butterscotch with coca nibs. and they ship!!! but it’s real expensive. might take some home on the plane sunday night though! More later, in the meantime, enjoy these Amish Tomatos!

The Magical Land of Ohio…

Friday, July 6th, 2007

I’ve come to Columbus, OH for the Origins game convention, under the pretense of work ;)
This morning i took, literally, not two steps out of the hotel when i am stopped by a very weird looking guy. Our conversation goes as follows:

WG: Is that a Scotty Skirt?
Me: Uhhh….
WG: Is that a Scotty Skirt?
Me: err…
WG: Is it a skirt made by the scottish people?
Me: er, actually, it’s technically made by the Seattle people.

it took a while for my witty dialogue to kick in, i blame this on the fact that a) i was only just awake and b) usually, it’s people asking about my shirt that has the words “I am wearing little pants to hide my genitals It’s the law” on it that people are asking about, not the Utilikilt. I checked to see if he was one of the poor socially inept gamers, but saw no badge. (doesn’t mean he wasn’t though) So Good Morning COLUMBUS!!!!! After brekkie i’m going to venture back outside, to see what other gems we have waiting to accost me as i step out onto your high street all unknowing.
