I’ve come to Columbus, OH for the Origins game convention, under the pretense of work
This morning i took, literally, not two steps out of the hotel when i am stopped by a very weird looking guy. Our conversation goes as follows:
WG: Is that a Scotty Skirt?
Me: Uhhh….
WG: Is that a Scotty Skirt?
Me: err…
WG: Is it a skirt made by the scottish people?
Me: er, actually, it’s technically made by the Seattle people.
it took a while for my witty dialogue to kick in, i blame this on the fact that a) i was only just awake and b) usually, it’s people asking about my shirt that has the words “I am wearing little pants to hide my genitals It’s the law” on it that people are asking about, not the Utilikilt. I checked to see if he was one of the poor socially inept gamers, but saw no badge. (doesn’t mean he wasn’t though) So Good Morning COLUMBUS!!!!! After brekkie i’m going to venture back outside, to see what other gems we have waiting to accost me as i step out onto your high street all unknowing.

And today at work I figured out how to solve all conflicts. World Peace will finally be achieved! And here is the simple answer that has been staring us in the face the entire time. All conflicts shall now be resolved with Sloppy Make-outs. it’s perfect! The key to success is that we must ensure that they be SLOPPY, this keeps people from picking fights with hotties. Nobody likes a Sloppy make-out.

What a weird freakin day (specifically customer-wise) yesterday was. First, we over hear lady customer tell her friend that she “would rather blow her brains out than sit outside” which i thought was very effective, um, whatsit. the next customer in line said she’d really rather sit outside given those choices. Okay, and then, and this is by far the best one, i had a guy (middle aged: 40-50) come up to me at the counter and asked if we had a disguise dept. and i said, yeah, we have a whole dress up section in the back, and he scampered off back there. Come to find out later from Morgan as he was looking at our large and ridiculous fake beard, that he was looking for a disguise to wear to the beach in CA or Miami, some beachy place, because he had a lot of ex-girl friends and their friends there and he didn’t want to be recognized. !!!! it’s not often we get them that weird. He asked Morgan how she thought the beard would look and she told him “It would look pretty obvious that you are wearing a big fake beard.”

I signed up for the Little Visitor round 7 swap on Craftster, and my Visitor came in the mail today! I have conscripted Morgan and this has become a joint effort now. We were supposed to get a peep, but when my swap partner found out where i lived, she sent her son’s Tigger instead, in the theory that if they never make it to Washington, DC, he can at least learn about it from the pictures of place Tigger will visit. That’s all well and good, but tonight we’re off to a bar/club to see fire spinning and tomorrow he’s looking forward to an ice cold Cerveza, though i’ve been told to limit him to one, lest he be seen on “Stuffies Gone Wild” So anyhow, here are some arrival pics.

Here he is firmly ensconced among new friends on the bed! The Uglies think he looks a little weird, but they like him anyhow, and they love his colors.

And here he is playing me at Hang on Harvey! the other package that arrived in the mail today! He’s beating me too, the little scamp.

though you can’t tell from this god awful blurry pic, this is my best diagram ever drawn. it depicts John Cooter getting pooped on by a giant pickle. The original was given away, but i needed to save something of it for posterity.

Here is what the Japanese like…FREAKIN’ EVERYTHING. We’re halfway through our vacation already (:( ) and i can not begin to describe the massive amounts of everything here. Jessi and Jason just got back from their honeymoon at Disney and they were telling us about the Japan Pavilion in EPCOT, or “Pavilion of Never Ending Crap” as it were. They said they hadn’t realized that the Japanese were such consumers, and Patrick and I were all like “Oh yeah” I mean, just think about Hello Kitty. But i don’t think either of us realized to what scale they consume. i mean. SHEEZAMAGEEZA!!!!! We’re currently in Osaka staying with Michelle and yesterday we made it down to Namba and Shinsaibashi. There is a path of shopping (think open air mall, like a shopping arcade, there are no doors or anything, but the roof is covered) more than a mile long. it went from one end of our map to the other, and to get there, you walked through an underground shopping center easily the same length. (well, you could walk topside on the street, but holy freakin’ hell is it hot and humid here right now)
That being said, the shopping is obviously really great here, it’s very very easy to part with money. We ran into the never ending strip o’ shopping yesterday because we came down looking for certain shopping district, the one that sells food prep stuff, and everything else. It was really cool. Scads of dishes, chopsticks and small things like that. Takoyaki friers, (Takoyaki and Okanomiyaki are Osaka specialties) Ovens, and other large things too. We picked up some Noren, (on sale!) and Patrick got the Male Sanrio bento box. Patrick had Takoyaki for lunch, (tasty, apparently) and i ate at a fast food place that shall remain nameless.
Today we are off to Kyoto with Michelle, tomorrow i’m trying to convince them to go to an amusement park, i don’t know how that’s going to go over though… So, i’m going to get ready to go and wake Patrick up. More later, with pics and all that good stuff
P.S. yesterday, we found the Porn vending Machine.

Well, first off, the Birthday thing was a rousing success! Both mine (we saw the giant octopus being fed) and Jasons (yesterday)- let me tell you, people at the zoo just aren’t accustomed to seeing Velma Dinkly wandering around looking for clues. That red-billed blue tailed Magpie wasn’t giving anything up. And today was SHEEP AND WOOL!!!!!!!!! woo-hoo! fantastic as usual. i came home with my bag full and my wallet empty. who could ask for more?
okay, this has been lingering on a tab for 2 days now, so i’m just going to post it, even though it’s not really about anything too much.
